I finally stopped booming down with the trolley centered, and my swing got way smoother
I used to always park the trolley dead center before booming down on a pick, just out of habit from my early days. Last month I was setting a 3,800 lb AC unit on a roof in Tempe and the load kept swinging on me no matter how slow I went. An old timer on the ground asked why I wasn't trailing the trolley back a bit as I came down, said it keeps the load from fighting the boom tip. Tried it on the next three picks and the swing basically disappeared, way less tag line work. Curious if anyone else was taught one way or the other, because I feel like I wasted a good two years doing it the hard way.
