Got my 10,000th lift signed off in Pasco and nobody told me the number even mattered
Everyone at my yard says hours are all that count, but I hit 10,000 logged lifts on a liebherr 130 tonner in Pasco three weeks back and it hit me harder than any anniversary. The number meant something because lift 9,998 was a 14 foot spreader bar pick over an active rail line, and my hands did the check sequence without me even thinking about it. That is when the count stops being a stat and starts being proof your body knows the job. Curious if any of you track your own lift counts or am I the only one writing them in a notebook like a weirdo?
Counting lifts seems like a good way to track your own growth, but I don't bother with a number. Years on the seat and the tough picks you walked away from tell you way more than a logbook ever will.
