Warning: That 'gentle' bleach will still burn you if you leave it on too long
I was at a client's house in Oak Park last Tuesday doing a full highlight. Mixed up a new brand of 20 volume developer I got from a supply shop, seemed fine. Left it on the foils for 30 minutes like I always do, but this stuff processed way faster. Her scalp turned bright red and she started crying from the sting. I rinsed it off immediately and put a protein treatment on, but she had scabs for three days. Turns out some manufacturers label stuff as gentle but it's still strong. Has anyone else had a bad reaction with a new peroxide brand?

Wait, 20 volume developer isn't really "gentle" even if the box says so.

Might be the water pH at that client's house reacting differently with the peroxide.
