Vent: Watched a new stylist at my salon use the wrong sectioning pattern on a balayage

I was at Supercuts over on Elm Street yesterday getting my own roots touched up and this poor girl was sectioning a balayage in straight horizontal lines like it was 2010. The client walked out with this harsh stripe look instead of a soft blend. Has anyone else seen newer stylists skip the diagonal sectioning and just go for what's faster?

Man, straight sections on a balayage might as well be a crime scene... it's like watching someone use a chainsaw for surgery. Bet that client walked out looking more like a zebra than a blonde bombshell. New stylists gotta learn, but maybe not on someone who's paying real money for a "soft blend.

Ugh that's painful to watch! My friend went to a new stylist for a balayage and came out looking like she had literal stripes painted on her head, took months to fade out.
