That $400 hair steamer I bought is collecting dust in my closet
I saw all the Instagram stylists raving about steam treatments for deep conditioning, so I dropped $400 on a professional-grade steamer about 8 months ago. It takes forever to set up and my clients just end up with wet necks. Has anyone actually figured out how to make these things earn their keep in a busy salon?

Oh man, I bought a fancy knife sharpener and now I just use it as a paperweight.

Same with my vacuum sealer. Bought it thinking I'd meal prep like a champ, now it lives in the back of a cabinet. @charlie_ellis gets it, fancy tools just sit there judging you. For your steamer, try using it on days you're not booked solid, like a slow Tuesday. Run it on dry mannequin heads to show clients the effect without the wet neck issue. Maybe demo it as a quick service add-on for ten bucks, that's the only way I see those things paying for themselves.
