That $35 clipper blade I sharpened myself is working like new

I got tired of replacing blades every few months, so I bought a small sharpening stone kit off Amazon for around $35. After watching a couple of videos, I practiced on an old blade first, using light strokes at the same angle. Took me about 20 minutes to do my main clipper blade, and it's been cutting clean for 3 weeks now. Has anyone else tried this, or do you just stick to buying fresh blades from the supply store?
