Stylists are telling me clients want hair that looks good without a lot of work

On my routes, I drop off supplies at a few salons and always end up chatting with the staff. They say a big thing right now is people asking for haircuts and colors that don't need constant touch-ups. Like, layered cuts that still look fine after a couple months, or highlights that blend as they grow out. One colorist showed me how she does a softer root shadow so grow-out isn't so harsh. It feels like folks just want to save time and money on upkeep. Makes me think the fancy, high-maintenance styles might be fading out for a bit.

Seriously? People have always wanted easy hair, it's not some new big deal.

Check out the sales data for drugstore hair brands. Year after year, basic shampoos and conditioners top the charts. That tells me the 'easy hair' desire is just normal life, NOT some breaking news. People have always focused on simple routines over complicated ones.

Totally get that... sometimes the best move is just picking one shampoo you trust and sticking with it. All that extra stuff just makes a simple wash day feel like a whole project.
