Read that story about a $450 hairdryer that caught on fire... sounds like these things just aren't built for real use. I've heard you can get a decent one for under a hundred that'll last years without melting your stuff. Lesson learned, maybe stick with stuff that has actual safety reviews.

Man, that's wild. A $450 hairdryer catching fire is honestly scary, especially for something that costs that much. I gotta ask @emery19, do you think the price is actually the problem or is it more about companies trying to be too fancy with tech that hasn't been tested enough? Like, I get wanting something that works fast, but if it's gonna turn into a fire hazard, what's the point? Seems like a lot of these high end gadgets just skip the basics for a gimmick.
