Spent $200 on a nicer pair of shears and it was worth every penny
I always used the cheap $40 shears from the supply store and thought they were fine. Then a stylist at a booth rental near me let me try her $200 Kashi shears for one haircut. The difference in hand fatigue after a full day of cuts was huge. I bought my own pair last month and my wrists don't ache at the end of double shifts anymore. Anyone else hold out on upgrading tools and then regret waiting so long?

My first week with $150 Jaguar shears I actually measured my wrist pain on a scale from 1 to 10 and it went from a solid 7 to maybe a 2 by Friday. I had been using those $40 supply store shears for almost two years thinking they were good enough. The steel quality and the way they glide through wet hair without snagging makes such a difference in how much force you need to use. I wish someone had told me sooner that cheap shears actually make you grip harder and that's what kills your hands. Did you find you had to adjust your cutting technique at all with the nicer pair or did it feel natural from the start?
