Rant: That fancy new salon in Denver was a total letdown
I checked out that new place on 16th Street last weekend that everyone's been raving about. They charged me $85 for a blowout that looked worse than what I can do at home in 20 minutes. The stylist used three different products and my hair felt sticky and weighed down by the time I walked out. Am I the only one who thinks high prices don't mean good service anymore?

Oh man, that sucks. My friend Sarah went to a similar spot in LoDo a few months back, paid like $70 for a balayage touch-up. She said the stylist left the bleach on so long her hair looked like brittle straw when it was done. She ended up having to go to her regular person to get it fixed and paid twice that. High price tag definitely doesn't mean you're getting anything good.

oh god i've been there. i stopped going to trendy salons and now i just check instagram for stylists who post their actual work on real people not models. found this one girl who does $40 haircuts in her basement apartment and shes amazing. she uses like two products and tells me exactly what shes doing so i can copy it at home. i bring a picture of what i want and she actually listens instead of doing whatever she thinks is trendy. honestly the lower price tag and the attention to detail made all the difference.
