Overheard a stylist say dry cutting is just a trend and I had to bite my tongue
I was in the break room at my salon in Austin last Tuesday and one of the senior stylists goes, "dry cutting is just a gimmick for Instagram." I wanted to scream because dry cutting totally changed how I handle curly hair and prevent shrinkage. Has anyone else had to defend their technique against old-school thinking in the salon?

Right? Like oh sorry I forgot we're supposed to just spray everything down with water and pray it doesn't bounce up to our ears. I swear some people act like dry cutting is a magic trick instead of just, you know, seeing the hair how it actually falls. My curls would be a total disaster if I had to cut them wet every time. Maybe it's just me but I think a lot of the old guard is just salty they didn't think of it first.

When they say wet cutting is the only professional way, what's their answer for why dry cuts work perfectly fine for thousands of stylists and clients without any disasters?
