My texturizing shears jammed mid cut in Phoenix and I learned a $12 lesson

Was finishing a long layered cut for a client in Phoenix last week when my texturizing shears stuck shut on a thick chunk of hair, so I had to switch to point cutting with my regular shears to blend it out. Now I'm wondering if I should just keep a cheap backup pair in my kit, does anyone else do that or am I overthinking it?
