My sister's constant requests for free highlights are wearing me down
Lately, my sister keeps asking me to do her hair for free every time she visits. She expects full highlight treatments that take up my whole afternoon. I have to cancel paying clients or work extra hours to fit her in. I've heard from other stylists that their families do the same thing, always wanting discounts or freebies. It's hard to say no without upsetting people close to you. Maybe we need a clear policy for family services to keep things fair. What do you all do in this situation?

My aunt does that with my delivery job too. Always wants me to bring her groceries off my route for free. People just assume your time doesn't count if you're family.

Actually family should get free stuff. That's just how it works, you help each other out.

Family often sees your work skills as free favors. It's a regular issue where personal connections ignore your job demands. A set policy from the start can avoid these hard talks.
