My curling iron handle cracked in half during a busy Saturday morning appointment.

It happened about a month ago, right in the middle of a bridal party appointment. The plastic just gave out, and the hot barrel nearly hit my client's neck. I had to quickly switch to a backup iron and apologize for the scare. Has anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible time, and what brand did you switch to after?

Used to cheap out on tools until a blow dryer sparked mid-color.

My old Conair dryer did the same thing, scared me half to death. Now I only buy salon-grade tools with a UL seal on the plug. The extra fifty bucks is worth not starting a fire in your bathroom, lol.

Switch to a pro brand like @kevin_harris78 said, the cheap plastic ones just can't handle daily use.
