She's been doing hair since 1987 and told me alcohol-based setting lotion dries out the hair shaft too fast, making curls fall flat by hour 4. I ignored her for about 6 months until a client named Tina asked why her perm wasn't holding after 3 weeks. Switched to a glycerin-based formula from Sally Beauty and now my sets last 2 days longer. Anyone else have a stubborn family member who ended up being right about something in the chair?
