I used to think a 20 minute process was fine for a Brazilian blowout until a client in Austin said her hair felt like straw after 3 weeks.
Now I always do the full 45 minute smoothing step my trainer showed me, even if the client is in a rush, because that extra time lets the keratin really set (which, you know, makes the whole thing last way longer).

Ah, the classic "straw in three weeks" special.

Consider how humidity levels in a client's home might mess with the cure time.

Honestly, the whole "straw in three weeks" thing is exactly what happened to me with a client once. Tbh, I tried to skip the extra drying time because she was in a hurry, and I totally regretted it. Ngl, that little 45 minute step really does make all the difference, like you said, letting the keratin bond properly. But I've also learned that some clients just have naturally dry hair that doesn't hold the treatment well anyway, so it's not always just about the process. Humidity definitely plays a part too, but I swear some people's hair just fights the product no matter what you do.
