Had a client yesterday who wanted me to fix a perm from another salon

Lady came in with hair so fried it was practically breaking off at the roots. Said the other stylist told her it was normal for the first week. I spent an hour just doing a deep protein treatment and talking her through what actually happened. She almost cried when she saw how much damage there was. Has anyone else dealt with fixing bad work from places that clearly rushed through it?

Honestly, always start with a bond builder before you even think about cutting anything off.

Oh man, that's a rough one. I've had my share of fixing perms from other salons too, and it always breaks my heart. Honestly, I've made my own fair share of mistakes back in the day, so I try not to judge too harshly. But telling someone their hair is supposed to be breaking off is just wrong. It's like telling someone their car is supposed to make a weird noise after a tune-up. I've learned the hard way that if you rush through a perm, you end up spending twice as long fixing the damage later. Good on you for doing that protein treatment and talking her through it.
