Had a client yesterday who wanted a full bleach and tone on virgin hair in one sitting

She came in with hair down to her waist and wanted to go platinum. I explained the risk of breakage and we agreed on a two-step plan over two weeks. The first session took almost four hours, but using Olaplex in the mix, her hair lifted beautifully with zero mushiness. Anyone else have a good strategy for managing client expectations on big color changes?

Honestly, how do you even start that talk without them getting upset? I always show pictures of what can happen if we rush it, like actual breakage photos from other clients. Tbh, setting that two step plan was smart, it gives their hair a real break. Using Olaplex like you did is the only way I'll even attempt a big lift on long hair anymore.

Ever tried just telling them it's like trying to build a house without a foundation? I lead with that, then show the scary photos. Honestly, the two step plan saves so many fights.

My two-step plan is just showing the photo and then running for cover.
