Debate: Are sulfate-free shampoos actually worth the hype? I found some surprising data

I was reading through a cosmetology journal last week and saw a study saying sulfates in shampoo don't actually dry out most hair types as much as we think. One side says they strip natural oils, but the other side says they're fine for clients with oily scalps or thick hair. I've always pushed sulfate-free lines at my salon in Austin, but now I'm second-guessing myself. Has anyone else run into this stat or have thoughts on when sulfates might be okay?

Are you seeing different results with your clients vs that study?

Seems like overthinking a haircare label to me.
