Question about that advice to switch to cloud based project management

My buddy who runs a crew in Denver told me last winter to stop using spreadsheets and go with cloud software for tracking jobs. I figured he was just pushing some fancy app, but I finally switched to Procore two months ago and it actually cut my paperwork time by about 4 hours a week. Has anyone else had someone give them advice on software that they doubted at first but turned out to be right?

Spent three weeks fighting my old spreadsheet system before admitting my brother was right about Trello... I kept telling him my post-it notes and color coded folders were fine, but the man had a point. Now I can actually find a job file without digging through three years of backup drives like some kind of digital archaeologist. Still mess up tagging people sometimes and feel like a boomer trying to use a smartphone. But man, that first time I realized I could just pull up a timeline on my phone instead of calling the office was a real face palm moment.
