Week from hell on a driveway pour near Denver

Last Tuesday we did a 40 yard driveway pour and the concrete started going off in the truck before we even got it in the forms. Had to rush the finish so bad the homeowner called and said it looked like crap. Anyone else had a batch go hot on them that fast?

Did you check the mix design or just blame the driver?

Same thing happened to us last summer. Had to dump half a load in the dirt.

Nothing like paying top dollar for concrete that decides to set up faster than a nervous cat at the vet. Always a treat when the homeowner gets to play art critic on your rushed broom finish. Guess we all learned that extra water on the truck is just a temporary fix for a bad mix design.
