Was prepping a slab last week and an old timer walked up and said 'you're drowning it'
I was pouring a 12x16 patio in Austin last Tuesday and this guy in his 60s just comes over and watches me run the bull float. He goes 'son you're drowning it, let the water come to you not the other way around.' Stuck with me because I was literally fighting the bleed water instead of letting it do its thing. Anyone else had a random stranger drop some wisdom on a job that actually made you change how you work?

Honestly used to roll my eyes at people who said drinking more water fixed everything. I thought it was just one of those things people say to sound healthy, you know? But I finally tried actually tracking my intake for a week and wow, I was wrong. My skin looks better and I don't get that afternoon slump where I feel like I need a nap. Even my headaches went away, which I never connected to dehydration before. It's wild how something so simple can make such a big difference.
