Took the gamble on a cheap power trowel instead of renting a name brand for my 3,000 sq ft garage slab job in Tulsa. The blades wobbled by the 4th pass and I spent a whole afternoon with a hand float fixing it.

I figured I'd save $150 on the rental fee by buying a sub-$400 model from a big box store. The first 15 minutes were fine but then the vibration got bad and I could see the finish going uneven. Ended up having to hand finish almost the whole thing. The cured slab looks fine now but I lost 4 hours I didn't plan for. Anyone else talked themselves into buying cheap gear and then regretted it mid-pour?

Wait, the blades actually wobbled mid-pour? Like you could see them going wonky while the concrete was still wet? That's wild lmao. I'd be panicking so hard watching my finish go to hell with no way to stop it.
