The day I realized my bull float technique was backwards after 12 years

Was doing a warehouse slab in Columbus last Tuesday and this old timer leaned over the forms and said 'you're pushing, should be pulling on the float.' I'd been pushing the bull float away from me the whole time thinking it helped close the surface, but he showed me a test patch and the difference in the cream was night and day. Anyone else ever figure out they'd been fighting the tools for a decade plus?

Took me nine years on finishing trowels before I learned the same thing. Felt like an idiot.
