Serious question, how do you deal with a bad slump in a driveway pour?
Had a job last week in the old part of town where the ground was way softer than we thought. The concrete truck showed up and we started the pour, but one corner just kept sinking. We had to stop, bring in more gravel, and compact it three separate times. What should have been a 4 hour pour turned into an 8 hour day, easy. Anyone got a good trick for spotting a soft spot before you start?

Always test the ground first, man.

Absolutely, it's such a simple step that gets skipped way too often. A quick poke with a stick or a light step can save you from a twisted ankle or worse. I've seen people just charge ahead and end up knee-deep in mud. That little bit of caution makes all the difference.

Poke the ground every few steps, especially on trails with leaves covering everything. That's how you find the hidden roots and soft spots before they find your ankle. Saved me from more than a few faceplants on morning hikes.
