My power trowel threw a blade at 7am on a Tuesday pour
Piece of the blade guard snapped clean off and hit the form before I even got the machine leveled, so I ran it manual with a hand float for the rest of that 40-yard slab and now my wrist is paying for it, anyone else had a machine let go at the worst possible moment?

Man, I read a post on a contractor forum last year where a guy's screed belt snapped mid-pour and it sounded exactly like this. Everyone chimed in saying the same thing: machines never break when you're sitting around drinking coffee, only when you're behind schedule and the concrete's already on the truck. 40 yards with a hand float is brutal though, I'd rather rebar the whole thing by hand than do that again. Hope your wrist's just sore and not actually messed up, that kind of work takes weeks to bounce back from.
