Just talked myself out of a panic over a hairline crack
I was finishing a driveway in Arlington yesterday, and right as I was bull floating, I spotted this tiny hairline crack forming near the edge. My first thought was oh no, here we go again, but then I remembered something my uncle told me years ago. He said sometimes those cracks are just from the mix settling and don't mean anything if you catch them early. I ended up running a trowel over it and it sealed right up, no issues. Has anyone else had that moment where you almost freak out over nothing?

Hey @margaret_gonzalez25, I get why you'd say that because concrete can be super unpredictable sometimes lol. But honestly, I think OP handled it the right way by catching it early and sealing it before it got worse. It's totally normal to second-guess yourself though, we've all been there with a job that almost went sideways.

Oh man, I read somewhere that if you catch hairline cracks fast enough, they usually seal up fine with a trowel.

I mean are we really sure that crack didn't mean something worse? Concrete does what it wants sometimes and you might just be lucky this time.
