Hit exactly 1000 square feet of broom finish in one pour and barely made it
Had a driveway pour last Thursday where we placed 8 yards of mix and I ended up with exactly 1000 square feet of broom finish when I measured it out. That's the most I've ever done solo in one continuous pour without a break. I use a 4 foot mag and a 36 inch broom with stiff poly bristles, and I had to really pace myself on the timing. Anyone else run into a point where their body just gives out after a certain square footage? How do you push past that wall?

Bro you're telling me you placed 8 yards and ended up with exactly 1000 square feet solo? That's wild lol. I gotta ask how your back is feeling the next morning because mine would be screaming after that kind of pour. I've done big pours before but never solo like that without a helper to at least spray the joints or something. You must have been moving like a machine to stay ahead of the set.

Man that is a solid question honestly lol. I gotta wonder how you even managed the finishing work without someone on the fresher concrete while you were still placing. Like were you running back and forth between the chute and the screed? Or did you somehow work the concrete out of the truck in sections so you could bull float and edge while the next load was coming? I've tried that before and it always catches up to me faster than I expect.

Ask him if he had the truck driver babysit the chute while he was running back to finish... cause I've seen guys try that and the driver ends up burying half the forms while the finisher is sweating edges. Did you batch it out in stages or just send it all at once and pray?
