A retired finisher in Denver changed my mind about power trowels

He watched me struggle on a 4,000 sq ft slab and said 'kid, your float is never gonna fix that dip,' then spent 20 minutes showing me how he used a magnesium hand float and a straightedge for every pass, and now I leave the power trowel in the truck for anything under 2,500 feet; has anyone else ditched the machine for hand work on smaller pads?
