Update: I use a 9 volt battery to test old power supply fans before I even plug the unit in
Half the junkers that land on my bench in Fort Wayne have fans that spin free by hand but stall the second they get 12 volts, so now I touch two leads to a 9 volt for a second and listen for the bearing growl, and it has saved me from selling three bad PSUs in the past month, anyone else got a dumb little pre-test like that?
