Three years of imaging gigs and I'm done with the winpe flash drive method
Back in 2021 I used to swear by manually booting every machine into WinPE from a USB. Then I landed a contract in Austin for 40 laptops a month and that workflow fell apart by week two. Switched to PXE boot with a local server and my imaging time dropped from 25 minutes to under 9 per unit. Everyone on here kept saying keep it simple, but the simple method was costing me 14 hours a month. I get the appeal for one-off repairs, but if you're doing volume, the extra setup pays for itself fast. Anyone else made the jump and found the learning curve way smaller than they expected?

What kind of server setup did you land on for the PXE boot? Just curious if you threw it together with spare parts or bought something dedicated.
