Three days of troubleshooting ended with a loose power cable
Spent Monday through Wednesday chasing a ghost in a client's office network. Replaced a switch, tested cables, even swapped out a patch panel. Turns out the main power cord to their server was barely seated in the back. Took me 30 seconds to fix after all that work. Has anyone else spent way too long on something simple just because you assumed it couldn't be that?

Blew three hours once on a printer that wouldn't connect. Turned out someone plugged the ethernet into the phone jack instead. Felt like an idiot for not checking first.
