Question about a Dell power supply failure I had last week

I was working on a Dell Optiplex 7050 last Tuesday and the power supply just went dead mid-boot. No smoke or anything, just clicked and nothing. I swapped in a spare 240 watt unit I had from a similar model and it fired right up. Has anyone else seen these Dell proprietary PSUs fail without any warning like that?

Yeah I've had two Dell Optiplex PSUs die on me exactly like that.

Oh man, that sucks. I've seen those Dell Optiplex PSUs go out like that more than once too, just dead with zero warning. It's a real pain when they look fine on the outside but just give up like that, your mileage may vary but I always keep a spare on hand for that exact reason.
