I ditched brand-name SSDs for cheap no-name drives in our shop builds

For the last 2 years I was buying Samsung and Crucial SSDs for every customer build because I figured the reliability was worth it. But after crunching numbers I realized I was spending about $40 more per drive compared to the generic Inland or TeamGroup ones. I switched 3 months ago and so far out of 12 builds, zero failures. Maybe it's just me but I think the warranty on the cheap ones covers the same stuff anyway. Has anyone else started using cheaper drives to cut costs for clients?

Yo wtf same actually. I switched to Inland drives from Microcenter like 6 months ago and saved a ton. Zero issues so far across maybe 15 builds. The Samsung tax is just too real when these cheap ones have the same warranties.

Inland stuff has been rock solid for me too.
