Had a client argue with me for 20 minutes about his 'virus'
So this guy brings in his laptop last Tuesday, says it's running slow and he's got a virus. I run my scans, find nothing but 15 browser toolbars and a bunch of startup junk slowing it down. Told him it wasn't a virus, just bloatware, and he got all defensive saying I was lying to upsell him. I had to show him each toolbar one by one and explain what they were before he finally believed me. Has anyone else had customers insist they know what's wrong even when the evidence says otherwise?

Honestly, you gotta treat it like showing a kid why the sky is blue sometimes. Just keep pointing at the screen and saying "see how this slows it down" till they get it.

Ngl @charles_kelly43, that's the most real advice I've seen on this whole thread. It's so frustrating when you're trying to explain something simple and the other person just blanks out. I end up repeating the same thing three times and still getting a blank stare back. Feels like you're talking to a wall sometimes, but you just gotta push through.
