Dropped $180 on a data recovery class and learned the trick is just asking the client for their old phone
The whole course taught the same free tool I already had, and when I asked the instructor about a locked iPhone he just shrugged and said to check the cloud backup, so has anyone found a class that's worth the cash or are we all just figuring this out solo?

I used to figure the paid classes had insider tricks you couldn't get anywhere else, but after seeing stuff like this I'm not so sure. Turns out most of these "secrets" are just basic stuff dressed up, and the real skill comes from messing with phones and drives yourself. Saving your money and learning by doing seems like the smarter play.
