Dell warranty support actually fixed my issue... wait, what?
I swear I've heard everyone say Dell's warranty support is garbage and you're better off just buying a new machine. So when my Precision 7530 started having random shutdowns last month I figured I'd be on hold for hours. Called them Monday morning at 9 AM, they ran diagnostics, and by Tuesday 2 PM a tech was at my office in Denver replacing the motherboard. No arguments, no fee, nothing. The shutdowns are gone and the laptop runs cooler now too. Has anyone else had a surprisingly good warranty experience with a major manufacturer recently?

and yeah like @murphy.linda said its totally a crap shoot who you get. I think its wild how much it varies even within the same company. My cousin had a Dell desktop that died on him and they sent a refurb that was worse than the original. But then I had a friend who got a brand new laptop sent to him overnight after his XPS screen went out. So weird how inconsistent it is. Glad you got the good side of the coin flip though that sounds like a dream.

Dell's been hit or miss for me. Had a Latitude die on me three years ago and they mailed me the wrong replacement part twice before I gave up. But then last year my buddy got his Alienware fixed in one visit with no fuss. Seems like it depends on which call center you get and what mood the tech is in that day. Glad yours worked out though, that's a solid win.
