Decided to go with in-house repair instead of sending laptops to a depot service

About 4 months ago I had to choose between keeping repair work in-house or using a depot service like iResQ for my small shop in Cleveland. I picked doing it myself even though it meant investing in a BGA rework station and extra training. It's been rough timing-wise when we get swamped with 10+ machines a week, but the quality control is way better and customers actually trust us more now. Has anyone else made this call and regretted it down the road?

Hold up, I gotta push back a little here. In my experience, depots are way faster when you're buried and it frees you up to actually sell or fix other stuff. Sure, you lose some control, but the time you save might be worth it.

Stuck with in-house too and honestly the time investment paid off for me. Once we got the first few months behind us, the workflow smoothed out and repeat customers started rolling in because they knew exactly who was touching their gear. Have you noticed a bump in word-of-mouth since you switched?
