Bootable diagnostics are now my first step for every slow computer
I used to reinstall the OS immediately for any sluggish machine. After seeing a video on bootable USB tools, I tried running hardware checks first. Now I catch bad RAM or failing drives early, which saves me tons of time. Clients get faster fixes, and I do less repeat work.

My buddy's gaming rig was hitting 10 fps on solitaire last Tuesday. I used to be that person wiping drives over a little lag, like using a flamethrower for a spider. These bootable USB things turned me into a computer doctor instead of a demolition crew. Caught a dying SSD before it took Windows with it, which felt pretty smart for a change. Now I just laugh when someone suggests a full reinstall right away. We're all learning, I guess.

Solitaire at 10 fps is a special kind of pain. I used to be the same way, nuking my whole system over tiny issues. Learning to find the real problem saves so much time and stress.
