Warning: lost comms at 110 feet in the Cooper River and had to trust hand signals
Cutting a pile at the Cooper River last Thursday when my comms box crapped out at 110 feet, surface came through as straight static. I froze for a second, then tapped the line three times like my old tender drilled into me years back. We ran the rest of the burn on line pulls, and honestly the job went smoother than some days when comms worked fine. I used to say I would surface the second comms dropped, no question about it. Now I am second guessing that rule. What is your cutoff line for hand signals versus a full bail out?
