Had to pick between a new Kirby helmet or fixing my old KMB for a job in the Gulf next week. Went with the fix.

What did the fix end up costing you?

My buddy had a similar thing happen. He said the "fix" was basically buying a whole new unit. The repair guy told him the part was more than the thing was worth. Ended up being close to six hundred bucks, which felt like a real punch in the gut.
