Had a weird echo on the comms during a bridge inspection in Pittsburgh last week.
We were checking the underwater piers on the Fort Pitt Bridge and my surface guy's voice kept bouncing back with a half-second delay. I finally realized my helmet mic was picking up the sound from my own exhaust bubbles hitting the metal structure right next to me. Has anyone else run into a feedback loop like that, and what's the best way to fix it on the fly?

Ever try just talking quieter? Sometimes the mic is too sensitive for that bubble noise.

Lowering your voice helps sometimes but it really depends on the mic. I move my mouth away from the mic and talk at a normal volume. That bubble sound comes from air hitting the diaphragm too directly.

That reminds me of a time my car radio picked up a taxi dispatch near the airport.
