Am I the only one who dropped $300 on a Kirby Morgan band mask that just fogged up nonstop?

Bought a used Kirby Morgan band mask off a guy in Louisiana for 300 bucks and the thing fogged up so bad I couldn't see my own hand after 10 minutes down. Anyone else deal with this or did I just get a lemon?

Read something similar on a diving forum last week where a guy said he baked his Kirby Morgan mask at 120 degrees for an hour to reset the silicone and it fixed his fogging issue. Might be worth trying before you go buying new parts though I'd be careful not to melt anything. The dish soap trick works for a dive or two but like Johnson said it's just a bandaid.

Man I almost dropped my phone when I read you paid 300 bucks for that. That's just painful. I've seen those masks go for cheap because they have that exact problem. The silicone ages and loses its seal around the lens so moisture gets in and turns into a foggy mess. You probably need to reseat the lens with some fresh silicone or check if the gasket is worn out. Some guys also swear by using a tiny drop of dish soap rubbed inside the lens but that's just a bandaid. You might have gotten a decent deal if the frame and harness are still good though.

Did you try the dish soap trick yet? It might save you from tearing the whole thing apart.
