The comment thread on a pancake recipe that turned into a full on war about flipping technique

I saw a post last week on a food page showing a simple pancake recipe. The comments went nuts with people arguing whether you should flip once or multiple times. One guy claimed flipping more than once ruins the texture and a woman said her grandma flipped them six times with no complaints. It was pure chaos and I couldn't stop scrolling through it. Has anyone else seen a recipe comment section explode over something that small?

People really get worked up over pancakes like it's some sacred ritual passed down from the gods. It's just batter in a pan, flip it however you want and eat it. Some of these comment threads make you wonder if people have actually bigger problems in their lives.

Totally agree with you max. I got into this argument on another forum where someone said flipping pancakes with a spatula is the "correct" way and using a wrist flick is for amateurs. Like come on, I've been making pancakes since I was 8 years old and my wrist flip method works FINE. People act like you're desecrating their grandma's legacy if you add chocolate chips or use a mix instead of from scratch. It's literally just breakfast. They've got way too much time on their hands if they're policing pancake techniques.
