That electric pasta maker I bought on sale turned out to be a total dud

I spent $80 on one of those fancy countertop pasta makers after seeing it all over social media, and the thing jammed up on my third batch of fettuccine. The motor literally burned out and smelled like toast, so now it's sitting in my garage waiting for a trip to the dump. Has anyone else been burned by an appliance that looked good in videos but fell apart in real life?

Wait, it actually smelled like toast? Like burnt toast? That's kind of wild honestly, I've never heard of an appliance doing that before. I had a cheap blender that smoked once but nothing that smelled like breakfast. You probably dodged a bullet though, if the motor burned out that fast imagine what could've happened if you left it running. Sucks you wasted 80 bucks on it though, those influencer ads really make everything look perfect.

Nah I dont know, 80 bucks for a blender that lasts years is still a solid deal even if this one was a dud. Every brand has some lemons.

Wow @annas87, I actually read somewhere that burnt toast smell can mean electrical insulation is melting inside!
