Showerthought: I spent years reading YouTube comments wrong, and a reply on a cat video last Tuesday made it click.

My cousin pointed out last year that I was reading all the replies on Reddit wrong. I thought the little lines connected the comments in order of posting, not who was replying to who. It made so many arguments seem totally insane until I figured out the threading.
