My friend had a massive blowup in a neighborhood group over whether you can compost citrus peels. One neighbor insisted they kill the good worms, and another said that was old misinformation. It got so bad they were criticizing each other's yard waste bins on trash day. People invest a lot of pride in their compost systems, I guess. It's surprising how a pile of rotten stuff can make folks so angry.
