Pulled a comment from a gardening post that got 12k likes for calling mulch "dirt pillows"

So last night I screenshot this comment that said "my petunias sleep better on dirt pillows" and now my phone is blowing up with people asking for the post link, has anyone else had a random comment go viral on you like that?

Block that post link from your phone's clipboard or screenshot tools, I learned that one the hard way when my "compost is just spicy soil" comment got shared around. Honestly just mute the notifications for a day or two and it'll blow over, nobody's gonna remember "dirt pillows" by next week.

Yeah I learned that clipboard trick the hard way too, turns out "your compost looks like it went through a paper shredder" was not the clever gardening joke I thought it was. At least with dirt pillows you can claim you were talking about some trendy new eco-friendly bedding line if anyone asks, @the_cameron. Muting notifications is solid advice, but I usually just delete the app for 48 hours and pretend I went on a digital detox. Give it a week and people will be too busy arguing about whether cardboard counts as browns or greens.

Dirt pillows (digging the nickname by the way) being forgotten by next week sounds about right, especially since the internet has the attention span of a goldfish on a sugar rush. @kelly385 mentioning the cardboard vs. greens debate is spot on, that's the kind of timeless argument that will bury any meme. I once had a post about my "leaf mulch toupee" get roasted so bad I changed my profile picture to a trash can for a month. Muting is probably smarter than my go-to strategy of posting a bunch of cat pictures to push the drama down the feed. Then again, cat pics might just make people remember you as the person who also argued about dirt pillows.
