PSA: I saw a comment that said 40% of tweets are never seen by anyone
I was scrolling through a thread about social media algorithms yesterday, just killing time, and someone dropped this stat. They linked to a study from some university, I think it was Stanford. It said that around 40% of all posts on that platform basically vanish into the void with zero engagement, not even one like or view. That blew my mind, lol. I always figured if you posted something, at least a few people in your network would see it by default. It makes you think about all the jokes, thoughts, or pictures that just go completely unnoticed. I even checked my own old posts and yeah, a bunch have zero activity. Has anyone else come across a social media fact that made you stop and think?

Honestly, that just sounds like most of what gets posted isn't worth looking at anyway.

But that's the whole point... you have to dig for the good stuff. Like that one post last week about fixing old radios with just a soldering iron and spare parts. Or the deep dive on why local pizza places all use the same boxes. The gems are buried, sure, but they're there. If you only look at the top voted stuff, you miss the weird, specific knowledge that makes this place actually interesting.
