I used to ignore the comments on news posts until a reply changed my view
There was a post about a new park in Denver, and the top comment just said 'This looks like a great place to lose a frisbee.' I thought it was a dumb joke. But then someone replied with a link to a city report showing the park's budget was double the average, with a line item for 'specialty landscaping' that blocked sight lines. That single reply, with a real source, shifted the whole conversation from jokes to asking real questions about the spending. Now I always check the replies for the person who actually did the homework. What's the best fact-check you've seen buried in a comment thread?

Wow, the quietest comments often hold the real bombshells.

Sometimes the loudest ones are just hiding something.

Guess that explains my loud laugh at bad jokes.
